IBC container accessories - frequently asked questions quickly explained

It's actually quite simple:

Empty your entire system, disconnect all union connections, and remove all valves that aren't frost-proof. This removal should be used to inspect the valves and clean it if necessary. Then place the valve in a container of water and store it in a dark, frost-free room – changing the water if necessary during the winter months.

Why separate the union connections?

Water collects even in the threads, which can burst the thread if ice forms.

Why store the valve separately in a frost-proof container?

A PVC-U valve doesn't have a dead-space-free design, meaning there will always be water in the fitting unless you disassemble the fitting, clean it, and spray the sliding surfaces with silicone spray, with the handle at a 45° position. In this case, you don't need a water bath for your fitting.

AND - you know it from your car - the frost warning sounds as low as 4°C!

A metal tap requires some maintenance. Moisture tends to collect, especially in the lever's pivot area, which can lead to surface rust. A squirt of rust remover or WD40 after installation and at regular intervals will prevent this, ensuring you enjoy your IBC container tap from HTC Logo for a long time.

IBC Container Anschlussgrößen

IBC containers typically (approximately 95% of all containers) have a coarse thread with dimensions S60, S75, or S100. This number indicates the outside diameter from thread tip to thread tip in the axial direction. Then another number follows – 6 or 8. This specifies the distance between the threads.
The thread is generally not self-sealing – therefore, a gasket (flat gasket) is used between the fitting and the screwed-on component.
The dimension DN 50 has nothing to do with the thread, but stands for "Diameter Nominal" and denotes the approximate internal diameter of pipes, hoses, and fittings according to international standards. The number after DN (e.g., DN 50) corresponds to the internal diameter in millimeters, but not exactly, as the actual diameter depends on the wall thickness and the external diameter.
