   Description

Drip hose Bead hose Sweat hose

The porous drip hose, color black, releases water drop by drop through the small pores: The drip hose, also called sweat hose or bead hose, is made from recycled car tires and ensures ideal irrigation of beds, shrubs, trees, greenhouses, etc. and is ideal for smaller areas.
Can be used both above and below ground (max. 15 cm). Ideally, you should lay the soaker hose in bark mulch, which can save up to 70% water compared to normal irrigation methods and prevent the soaker hose from drying out.
Equipped with a 3/4" external or internal thread as well as a Quickconnector (Gardena system) and end cap, the drip hose can be used universally and can be easily connected to other systems in both lengths.

  • Underground installation possible (max. 15 cm) without compaction
  • 0.76l - 1.26l/min at 0.7 bar water pressure
  • Connection A: union nut (rotatable) internal thread with QuickConnector (Gardena) connection
  • Connection B: Male thread with end cap

Important: The pressure reduction of 0.7 bar is a reference value. As different pore sizes can be created during production, the reference value may still be too high, especially for a new product.

Beaded hose vs. drip line

Beaded hose

SC0100 Vergleich Tropfrohr 1
A beaded hose, made from recycled rubber and polyethylene, is porous along its entire length so that the water can be slowly released and the surrounding area can be deeply soaked. The internal dimensions are the same as the irrigation supply pipe (13 mm), so you can use the same fittings and connections that you would use for other types of micro-irrigation systems. This allows you to fully customize a system to your exact requirements. The disadvantage of using a beaded hose is that the water release is not regulated. This causes problems when installing a larger irrigation system or when you need precise irrigation. The reason for this is that the water loses pressure and flow as it passes through the pipe. The further the water flows through the bead hose, the less water can be released until you reach a point where no more water can be released. We normally only recommend using up to 20-30 meters per length and only 50 meters in total per irrigation zone. This can be limiting but does not affect the usefulness of the beaded hose.

Product Overview:
  • Ideal for small areas that require a good soak
  • Length up to 20 - 30m
  • Use of max. 50 meters in a single zone
  • unregulated water delivery
  • pressure reducer must be used
  • should be covered with mulch to prevent drying out in the sun
  • Decomposes over a manageable period of time (from 4 years, depending on care)

Drip line

SC0100 Vergleich Tropfrohr 2
The drip line is the preferred choice for professional installers and a modern method for drip irrigation systems. It is made from the same material as the irrigation supply pipe (LDPE) and has pressure-compensating drip emitters pre-installed every 33 cm along its entire length. The built-in pressure compensating drip emitters allow for precise calculation of flow requirements, resulting in efficient irrigation and easier installation. It is less susceptible to UV damage and algae growth and provides more efficient irrigation than the beaded hose. Designed for use in long runs, you can use a drip line up to 100 meters long and up to 150 meters in a single watering zone. Ideal for watering hedges and large areas. The disadvantage of using a drip line is the higher cost and more complex installation, but the connections are more professional and allow for a more reliable installation.

Product overview:
  • Ideal for long pipe runs and larger areas
  • Lengths of up to 100 meters
  • Use a maximum of 150 meters in a single zone
  • can also be covered with mulch to maintain soil moisture
  • as a version with integrated non-return valves, underground installation is also possible
  • Long service life of up to 20 years
