Intended use:
Important: The thread of the union nut on each ball valve or other fitting cannot be combined with threaded fittings and is intended only for screwing onto the ball valve. This thread is not standardized and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer
Tip: Do not install a check valve directly behind the pump, as turbulence from the pump can cause noise in the valve. Distance behind pump at least 5x pipe cross-section. If possible, remove any air trapped in front of the check valve, as this can collect in the valve and also cause increased noise and turbulence in the flow
Important: Only vertical, fixed installation with inlet from below. Sand or similar in the water can damage the surface of the ball
Stainless steel spring vs. ball
The stainless steel spring advantages:
- secure closure in any position
- reasonably priced and long-lasting
The ball advantages:
- low opening pressure
- resistant to salt water, acids and oils
The stainless steel spring Disadvantages:
- not resistant to salts and media that attack stainless steel
- Hair and long fibers can get caught in the spring
The ball Disadvantages:
- can only be installed vertically and securely with water flowing in from below
- Sand or similar in the water can damage the surface of the ball
