Difference between Reducing Bush Types with Female Thread

Right – Version A: The reducing bush is glued into the female socket; the octagonal collar remains visible in front of the socket and allows the use of a spanner during installation.
Left – Version B: The reducing bush is fully glued inside the socket; another fitting with a male thread can be directly connected to the socket.
Advantage of Version A: The projecting 8-sided collar allows the bush to be held with a wrench during the tightening process of the opposite thread. This prevents unnecessary lateral stress on the glued joint between bush and socket.
