Description
PVC-U Reducing Ring, Solvent Male Socket x Female Socket
PVC-U Reducing Ring – Application Area
The reducing ring is glued into a solvent female socket to reduce the diameter.
In the example shown, a 50 mm solvent female socket and a 50/20 mm reducing ring are used.
You can now continue with a 20 mm pipe or glue in, for example, a 20 mm hose nozzle.
It is also possible to glue an additional reducing ring into an existing one to achieve a further reduction in diameter.
PVC-U reducing rings can be glued into any female socket – e.g. if you have an elbow with two solvent female sockets,
you can also reduce one side of the elbow using a reducing ring.
Common PVC-U reducing ring sizes include 110/50 mm, 63/50 mm, and 32/25 mm.
A pipe can only be connected and reduced via the integrated solvent female socket using a reducing ring.
In systems with higher pressure levels, the use of reducing rings should be avoided.
The abrupt change in cross-section can cause turbulence or even water hammer.
In such cases, a reducing socket
is the gentler alternative.
